Our Doctors

Dr. Jon Culp grew up in a small town in central Ohio. He is a 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University, with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University in 2010. He was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society during optometry school. Following graduation, Dr. Culp completed a Veterans Affairs optometric residency with a focus in ocular disease in Columbus and Chillicothe, OH. Dr. Culp is a member of the AOA and OOA. He practices full scope optometry with a special interest in the treatment and management of eye disease as well as fitting contact lenses. In his free time, Dr. Culp loves to travel and spend time with his wife, son, and daughter.

Dr. Michelle Denny grew up in the small town of Forest, in northwest Ohio.  She attended The Ohio State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology graduating magna cum laude in 2012.  In 2016, she graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry degree.  She was awarded the David R. Mutti Endowed Fund Scholarship for being an inspiration to others in the field of Optometry.

Dr. Michelle practices full scope optometry including pediatrics, contact lenses, and ocular disease.  She loves the diverse opportunities that optometry provides in private practice.  Additionally, she enjoys volunteering her time teaching students in schools about vision and ocular health.  Dr. Michelle is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association, where she serves on different committees.

Dr. Michelle loves spending time with her husband, Dr. Stephen Denny, and their children Calvin and Ruby. Her family attends Worthington Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and baking.

Dr. Susan Wright received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1989. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1993.

Dr. Wright has been practicing at Emerald Eyecare since 1996. Her genuine style is evident to all of her patients. The real reward for Dr. Wright is getting to know her patients and helping them meet their vision care needs. She enjoys hearing what is new in their lives since their last exam.

Dr. Wright is a member of the AOA and OOA. She also works part time for the Quality Assurance Department of VSP. She resides in Hilliard, Ohio with her husband Jim and son Michael. She enjoys being a home care provider for Michael. In her spare time she enjoys sewing and cross-stitching. She also enjoys boating, biking, and traveling to the Disney Parks with her family.
